You are mixing MATE 1.12.x and 1.14.x packages which doesn't work. Please do a full
dist-upgrade to MATE 1.14.x. If your particular FTP server hasn't synced all 1.14.x
packages yet, please use a different mirror.

I just tested mate-sensors-applet on 1.14.x, it works fine here.

Please report back soonish, so we can close this bug report again.
