Please find three screenshots attached.

Maybe related to the main issue of this bugreport, maybe not.

The first screenshot is from a Jessie box (MATE 1.8) but I'm pretty sure
the theme looked the same in 1.12.

The second screenshot is from 1.14; there are outlines around some zones
that were not present in previous versions.

The third screenshot is the same, with the outlines highlighted.
