request for comments: the meta MATE packages...

Hi all,

we are close to completing the initial upload of MATE to Debian  
unstable/testing. \o/

The last package I am currently breeding on is the meta src:package  
(containing several meta bin:packages).

I have several questions to throw into the round and maybe you can  
contribute your wishes / opinions...

1. What bin:packages shall we provided?

My current draft provides

    mate-desktop-environment-core (was: mate-core)
    mate-desktop-environment
    mate-desktop-environment-extras (was: mate-desktop-environment-extra)

The package dependencies and recommendations have slightly changed  
compared to Stefano's approach for the upstream provided .deb packages.

I also would love to provide one more meta package:

    mate-desktop-environment-full (or similar name)

    -> Provide non-MATE dependencies like libreoffice, gimp,  
<video-player>, etc. ----> see next question!!!

Please review the currently available debian/control file of  
src:package candidate mate-desktop-environment [1] and please give  
feedback. Thanks.

2. Suggested/Recommended 3-party software?
---------------------------------

     Web browser -> iceweasel (?)
     Mail reader -> icedove (?)
     Video player -> totem (?)
     Office suite -> libreoffice (?)
     ... etc. ... (gimp, inkscape, ...)
