Bug#750456: mate-media-gstreamer: Please drop the dependency on marco

Package: mate-media-gstreamer
Version: 1.8.0+dfsg1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm currently running mate with the sawfish wm (which I'd been using
with gnome2 for many years and does some nice things I like), and that
all works just nicely so far, except this package wants to bring marco
back in again.

I'm not quite sure why it needs to depend on that (except maybe it lets
marco make sounds for various actions?) -- but all I really wanted from
it was the volume applet for the panel, and if I get dpkg to force install
it without marco, that works just fine too. I'm quite happy to have my
windows not make sounds at me if that's all I'm losing :)

So could you please consider dropping the dependency on marco, or if there
is some reason that actually isn't possible, putting the volume applet
somewhere that it can be installed without needing that.

The dependency on mate-desktop also looks like it might be overkill (given
the contents of that package), but I'm less worried about that one since I
do have it installed anyway.

Thanks very much for your work on this! That's really about all I have
to grumble about at this stage, it's otherwise all working very nicely.
I was also going to report the problem from #749593, which I ran into
when swapping marco for sawfish, but I see that's already fixed now and
just waiting to hit jessie :)

  Cheers,
  Ron
