Simon answered my question about a potential rebase of his previous 
patch contribution quickly an pointed me to the upstream commit [1] from 
Emilio that makes the patch not needed any more as Mozilla added the 
functionality by their own.

So the current state of an beta version, that will become the next ESR 
version wasn't, better than aver before! We will need obviously again 
updated build tools for the current Debian stable release.
