Well, it should have been released last week end, but there are still
some regressions in that branch that diego tries to fix. That's why I'd
like to "track" that branch"

I'd prefer to stay with that persumably weird scheme, because TBH, I
have doubts that ffmpeg upstream will actively maintain and provide
regular releases. therefore I'd rather wait for the process to settle a
bit before changeing our versioning scheme. adding the "+0.5release"
suffix to the version to indicate that we are not tracking trunk but the
release branch should be sufficient anyway, I think.
However as soon more distros agree and hop in and we have really proper
maintained stable releases of ffmpeg, I agree that we should change to
proper versioning like you propose. or if something else happens that
warrants bumping the epoch again. But I'd rather do this only if we are
really sure with that step.
