<  Hello,
<
< if I understand well I need pbuilder or cowbuilder to create package in Debian
< unstable (sid) environment on my Ubuntu based distro.
< And this is best/only way if I want this package will be in official
<  debian/ubuntu repos latter?
<
I assume that the answer is "yes" and install pbuilder because cowbuilder is not in ubuntu repositories.
I can't build chroot directory :

$ sudo pbuilder create --distribution sid
W: /home/mira/.pbuilderrc does not exist
Distribution is sid.
Building the build environment
 -> running debootstrap
/usr/sbin/debootstrap
I: Retrieving Release
E: Failed getting release file http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/sid/Release
pbuilder: debootstrap failed
 -> Aborting with an error
 -> cleaning the build env
    -> removing directory /var/cache/pbuilder/build//23231 and its subdirectories

I've put these lines in my sources.list
deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian sid main contrib non-free
deb-src ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian sid main contrib non-free

Any advice?

Cheers

mira
