I don't have the details how it is implemented in ardour, but if they
use fst, it's just a plugin bridging between native ardour and the vst
plugins in wine. fst ist also available as a standalone jack plugin, so
if ardour doesn't support VST out of the box, fst can still do it.

Can somebody clarify if ardourvst is native+bridge or actually a win32
binary?
