First of all, a big thank you to everyone who has showed interest in a
team meeting. Since I've started this discussion, I'll try to summarize
it a bit so that we all know where we stand with this idea.

The following persons have raised their opinion on their interest in
either a live or virtual meeting. I really do hope that I haven't missed
anybody, if I did, please don't feel offended but speak up!

| Person | prefers | location |
|---------------------+------------+--------------------|
| ReinhardTartler | reallife | Nuernberg, Germany |
| BenjaminDrung | ? | Berlin, Germany |
| EricDantanRzewnicki | reallife | US |
| AlessioTreglia | reallife | Rome, Italy |
| FelipeSateler | reallife | Chile |
| EricHedekar | reallife | Vancouver, Canada |
| DavidHenningsson | reallife | Sweden |
| FabianGreffrath | virtual | Witten, Germany |
| LoïcMinier | virtual | France |
| FreeEkanayaka | virtual | Bologna, Italy |

Many raised the opinion that a virtual meeting would be great first, and
then we can decide where and how we should meet up. I think we should do
this in any case. Eric Rzewnicki suggested to decide on a time for an
IRC meeting via doodle. Eric, can you please set one up and post the
vote URL as reply to this email? I'd think the first possible date does
not need to be before the next weekend. Since we all need to think about
what we want to discuss, I'd volunteer to collect agenda items. Please
send me (either via this list or in private) your ideas what we should
discuss in our first IRC meeting, and I'll assemble an agenda. I'll put
this agenda on a wiki page as soon as we have decided on a time and
date. As location I'd suggest #debian-multimedia on irc.debian.org, many
of us are already in that channel anyways.

Various people also suggested that we should meet up at some distro
conference. This would be much easier (and cheaper) to organize than an
separate event. So let's collect what upcoming events we have:

| Event | Date | Location |
|--------------+----------------+--------------------------|
| Vlc Dev days | 18-20 December | Brighton, United Kingdom |
| Fosdem | 6.-7. February | Bruxelles |
| Debconf10 | 1.-7. August | New York City |
| LAC | 1.-4. May | Netherlands |

I hope that I didn't miss a suggested or otherwise important event. If I
did, sorry, please mention it (again). Perhaps it we could also setup
some doodle pools who is going to attend what conference? What do you
think?
