Status of gtkpod and libgpod maintenance

Greetings!

I have noticed that the state of gtkpod and libgpod in Debian is... less 
than ideal. gtkpod hasn't been updated since late 2009 and version 
0.99.14; libgpod's two latest uploads have been NMUs.

What's the status of the gtkpod maintainer team? Are there new releases 
planned?

If it has gone dormant and its members are no longer interested in 
maintaining the packages, I believe gtkpod and libgpod fall under the 
scope of the Debian Multimedia team. And as I already de facto maintain 
gtkpod in Ubuntu, I would be interested in doing that in Debian as well. 
Could a transfer be negotiated?
