There is definitely something wrong with the tagging (if not more): 
Here's what I get with "git tag":

0.6.1
debian/0.5.11-1
upstream/0.5.11

What do you get with same command?

If you also get those same tags, then your git-import-orig is 
incomplete.

Try simply do the git-import-orig again on top of the other - that will 
cause a bit of commit noise but shouldn't mess up the packaging (but 
hopefully fix).

You can also try yourself in a different directory to do the following 
and verify that it works to build the package from that:

   gbp-clone git.debian.org:/git/pkg-multimedia/scenic
