Please beware that asking a negated question is impolite: Similar to 
"when did you stop beating your spouse?" it implies an accusation.

I guess the intend was not "why do you do it inferior..." but rather the 
more polite "please consider doing it superior...".  More polite, and 
easier to discuss the quality of your suggestion when the alternative is 
not "put on trial". :-)

DEP-5 is cool, and personally I use it always, but beware that it is 
optional.
