FFmpeg package in Debian/Ubuntu

you are right, his mail was written in a remarkably neutral tone. 
However, I have been told that the reasons for the fork were mostly 
personal ones and especially dissatisfaction with his project 
leadership. So, yes, I guessed about his sentiment for the fork. ;)

Well, at this point the discussion reaches far beyond my level of 
involvement in both projects. I am just a contributor to the *Debian 
packaging* of the software and do not care that much if the libraries 
originate from the ffmpeg or the libav project.
