I'm not sure that uploading a new upstream to unstable would be acceptable
to the release team. However, if you could update our branch at
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-multimedia/jackd2.git, then I think
we could upload it to experimental, which would allow you to sync it from
there.
