GPL-3+ is the effective license of the binary package.
My question was "which is the license for the source files which are
compiled in order to generate that binary package?".

This is true, as long as I have to start from GPL-2+, rather than from
LGPL-2.1+.
The unclear part is why I have to start from GPL-2+ (see my reply to
Jonas for more details).

I hope we can come up a suitable clarification for that comment.
