You could check if DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS is set for iceweasel, i.e
check if /proc/$(pidof icewasel)/environ contains
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS and is correct.

What does

 $ gsettings get apps.gecko-mediaplayer.preferences disable-wmp

produce and does it match the settings set with dconf(-editor)?
