I tried the new packaged version 2.0.6 today and ended up in the obove mentioned
problem, which makes audacity nearly unusable. In detail:
First I opened an old audacity project and got an error/warning-window:

I clicked "continue", the project opened, I could play sound in the project, I saved the project. Then
I played a little bit arround, exspecially tried the new lv2-plugin option, which crashed audacity:

I newly started audacity with the same project, got a revovery-message, clicked recover (which was'nt
easy, because the button was that thin, that is was nearly unseeable), saved the project again. From now
on I could play the project, but when I selected a piece of audio and wanted to play
this selection, the program crashed.
I tried starting audacity out of a xterm and got (entire output since starting the program):

I recovered the project and hand the problem with not playing selected audio.
I then tried this and that, exsp. selected the proper alsa device as output in the preferences and finally disabled
lv2-plugins in the preferences. With this I tried some other old projects and created new ones and all seemed
to be fine, but all the projects, in which I tried to apply some lv2-effect before, can't even be opened any more,
even if I reverse my changes in the preferences. In xterm I only get:
