I am sure you are not alone in being interested in Debian covering this
field. I for one would be happy to collaborate with you on packaging
and maintaining those packages. Don't worry about skillset: join the
team, do what you can (which might be zero to begin with) and ask about
the rest - then either some of your fellow team members will guide you
or do those missing parts, depending on our mood and interests :-)

A first could be to file so-called RFP (Reguest For Packaging) bugs for
each of those tools that you are aware of being FLOSS but missing in
Debian. If you know already that you want to step up and maintain those
packages (alone or as part of e.g. this team) then instead file those as
ITP (Intend To Package) bugs. More info at
<http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/#l1>.

Another step could be to make a status page of that group of packages
that you feel belong together - similar to how the FreedomBox team does
it at <https://wiki.debian.org/FreedomBox/LeavingTheCloud>.

Above actions require no technical skills beyond writing email.

If you want to join this team - which I dearly recommend you - then
please see <https://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia>.

Thanks for your interest and for sharing your knowledge,

 - Jonas
