Granting write access to all DDs to our git area

Not sure what you tried. Here's how I would do it:
1) Activate the Debian member role.
1a) wait about 10 seconds, then cancel the crappy broken PHP and load
the admin page againg - and if 1) didn't succeed then try again giving a
little more time
2) in settings for the Debian member role, set it to visible and grant
write access
