This seems to be the commit where the man pages got removed:

It is ages old (2005) and I assume the doc repo references does not
exists anymore. I think it would be a good idea to add the man pages
back in the repo again, as I think the man pages and their versions
are very much tied to the binaries and the binary versions they
describe. And it would make the life of downstream packagers slightly
easier as there is just one single source package.
..just my suggestion..
