It's probably best as its own tool until it becomes more ubiquitous in
its use. It would work best as its own package with its own versions.
I'm sure the team would be happy to sponsor it and co-maintain it with
you.
I suggest releasing it with semver on a proper vcs somewhere to make
sure other distros can pick it up easily too.
