JFTR: This issue does not happen if I install mariadb-server in Debian
Sid as of now (10.0.26-1). That one has different issues with
lost+found which I'll report separately.

P.S.: There seems no MySQL 5.7 in Debian. Did you mean
"mysql-5.5/mysql-5.6".
