That's worth consideration: pam-mysql << 0.8.1 (for example 0.8.0-1 in
stable) fails to build (link) against mariadb-10.3 missing the export of
the my_make_scrambled_password symbol. At the same time it links
against mysql-5.7 (altered Build-Depends), but the behavior of the above
symbol changed in mysql-5.6, so the resulting module is buggy (sports a
buffer overrun). Thus there are several pitfalls here, and a
Breaks: libpam-mysql (<< 0.8.1-1+b1)
from libmariadbclient18 could fend off the most sneaky one, which
necessitated this binNMU. Most importantly, it would help with
dist-upgrades, I think.
