Hi all,

> That’s true in principle but probably unsustainable in reality.

https://www.debian.org/MailingLists/HOWTO_start_list says:

We usually don't support moderated lists, you need a very
good reasoning for requesting such a list.

But this applies to l.d.o only, AFAICT.

https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-binary.html#s-maintainer
says:

The email address given in the Maintainer control field must
accept mail from those role accounts in Debian used to send
automated mails regarding the package. This includes non-spam
mail from the bug-tracking system, all mail from the Debian
archive maintenance software, and other role accounts or
automated processes that are commonly agreed on by the
    project.

Even if it rings a bell, I found no mention regarding the use of
open mailing lists as package maintainers. Maybe it was there in
older policy versions.

Anyway, I don't think that forcing mailing lists to be open for a
service like Mailman makes sense.

Cheers,
Alex
