[Pkg-nagios-devel] issue trying to install nagios2/testing

Hello all,

My system is a Debian Sarge, stable installation.
Today, I tried to install nagios2, testing release.
I added testing to my sources.list, and after a apt-get update, i tried:
apt-get install nagios2

Then something worrying happens :)
apt-get warns me that numerous packages will have to be installed, fine.
But also that:
base-config initrd-tools kernel-image-2.4.27-2-386
will be removed!

I answered Yes, and when the installation process was about to deal
with kernel-image-2.4.27-2-386, it warned me that this was a very
dangerous operation.
Of course, I replied No, and now the installation process is half-done.

Is there anyway to install a nagios2 testing release on a stable
system, or is this a dead end ?

Thanks in advance
