actualy every monitoring software (nagios3, icinga, icinga2 ...) is
expecting their (default configured) plugins in /usr/lib/nagios/plugins.
So a (potential) move needs to be transparent (at first) for them. As we
(our maintainers group) don't see much benefits of it, we are not going
to make that happen yet.
This might be not true for plugins beside of the monitoring-plugins
source package. For example nagios-plugins-contrib might move to a
different location in the future and might also be renamed. But there is
no roadmap (and deadlines) yet for this (as there is still no technical
reason).
