Umpf, yes, you are right. I long time ago wrote myself an intelligent
init script that switches on/off the nvidia card hardware wise and
initializes the libGL and libglx links to the right ones (MESA or NVIDIA),
as well as changing the xorg.conf file.

Ok, consider this as a request to make the alternatives allow me
to switch to mesa.
