As noted in Message #71 to this bug, I believe to have observed the very same 
issue with the free nouveau driver. In conclusion I believe that the change in 
severity is not justified by your rationale.

Therefor please also consider bug #583336 and decide, if the bug can still be 
reduced in severity.
