Yeah, me too, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do it.  The problem
is that the nvidia-kernel-dkms package doesn't know what headers to depend
on, plus can't tell from the package manager that you don't have the right
headers for the kernel you're running.  I do wish dkms would be a bit
louder about complaining, though.

It's unfortunately a standard problem with all kernel modules that use
DKMS.
