Hi there,

While trying to backport the package to squeeze, I was faced with the 
following:

dh clean
dh: Sorry, but 8 is the highest compatibility level supported by this 
debhelper.
make: *** [clean] Error 9

$ cat debian/compat 
9
$ grep debhelper debian/control
 debhelper (>= 8),
 debhelper (>= 8),
