Where is your stdout going to? At least the ERROR should have been
printed there. Also some further disgnostics might show up there and not
on stderr.

To fix your system:

delete /usr/lib/fglrx/diversions/libglx.so
delete /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so.distrib
reinstall xserver-xorg-core

Looks like you had a local diversion there before and that has messed up
things.
