That's hard for me, I use unstable everywhere.

Yes.

[ 40.031430] nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel.
[   40.735485] nvidia 0000:01:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
[   40.735493] nvidia 0000:01:00.0: setting latency timer to 64

It looks identical to a 'standard ld' link. modprobe and rmmod work fine.
It also seems to load, at least partially, in xorg:

[    23.791] (II) LoadModule: "nvidia"
[    23.791] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so
[    24.089] (II) Module nvidia: vendor="NVIDIA Corporation"
[    24.117]    compiled for 4.0.2, module version = 1.0.0
[    24.117]    Module class: X.Org Video Driver

but then the log file stops. Since I have to kill the entire machine I'm unsure if the file didn't flush or if that's the complete output.

In fact, it took me a while to figure out that I tried installing 'gold' some days ago, since everything kept working for days until I rebooted.

Thanks.
