in stretch:
# nvidia-detect 1CB2
Checking driver support for PCI ID [10de:1CB2]
Your card is supported by the default drivers.
It is recommended to install the
    nvidia-driver
package.

The list of supported device IDs is extracted from the README included
in the driver package. We do not validate or customize it ourselves.

Planned for the next point release, which is not yet scheduled.
There will be a smooth upgrade path from the driver in stretch-backports
to the updated driver in the stretch point release. It's essentially the
same package.
