Building an embedded copy of openjdk-8 does not work, since it B-D on
itself, so we would need to build a jdk package, too. But that would be
in non-free and thus not buildd installable.

I've now bundled the latest openjdk-8-jre as found on sid for amd64 and
ppc64el along with the source package as separate component tarballs and
repack the binaries into nvidia-openjdk-8-jre.

Can be found in branch experimental+bundled-openjdk-8

Graham, could you try whether that works for nvidia-visual-rpofiler and
nvidia-nsight? Would that work (with these Debian built jre binaries) on
Ubuntu, too?

Thanks

Andreas
