I’ve fixed these warnings now, and also (probably) fixed a FTBFS on ppc64el. I’ve also added Python to the build dependencies, since I noticed in the buildd logs that the test suite wasn’t being run.

Not sure if this is worth a re-upload for this version, but it’s there for the next release anyway.
