[Pkg-openldap-devel] About #208440 slapd: monitor backend

Hi, fellow OpenLDAP maintainers :)

I have just installed a LDAP directory and was willing to get statistics as
explained by the man page "slapd-monitor" shipped in the slapd package, but
then have realized that the monitor backend is not compiled in the debian
slapd package.

There is a bug opened about the issue (#208440) since almost three years ago,
and AFAIK there is no reason to not enable it.

I've just created a package with monitor enabled and it works great, just
adding:
--enable-monitor=mod
to debian/configure.options.

Note that by enabling this, the default behaviour isn't altered at all, as the
backend is built as a module, and to get it activated you need to load the
module in the slapd.conf file and add a database of "monitor" type.

Please, consider adding the option in the next upload.

Best regards
