See the attachment for my attempt to install slapd from scratch.  I
ened up with the same files.

This is after I did a
apt-get remove --purge slapd libldap-2.3-0 ldap-utils
 rm /var/backups/slapd* -Rf
apt-get update
apt-get autoclean
apt-get clean
apt-get autoremove

Take a look.  I don't know what else to do.
