The bug is resolved in unstable.  Debian's BTS does track the version in
which it was resolved, so although you got a message saying that the bug
is closed, Debian's BTS does realize that it's still open in stable.

I expect that once OpenLDAP stabilizes in unstable and testing, someone
will backport it to stable.  I may end up doing that myself for Stanford.
