Hi,

That patch comes from an Ubuntu bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003854

It seems reasonable to me. TTBOMK the usual backends only create files
under /var/lib/ldap and not subdirectories.

If someone knows a counterexample to that, please do correct me.

I verified the problem as reported (databases in /var/lib/ldap and
/var/lib/ldap/accesslog) and the patch did fix it.
