This patch doesn't seem to be necessary if we modify the installation.
Instead of passing values to variables like BINDIR etc, just setting
BUILDROOT seems to be enough, as the other values are inherited from the

Apparently, that was just a problem with the Debian packaging. Not
something with which you should worry about. (At least, on a first
examination of the build system).
