I found out that Frank Karlitschek, one of the founders of ownCloud,
has abandoned the original company to create a new fork, Nextcloud. I

Do you think there is a chance Nextcloud is/will be more friendly to
third-party packaging?
Do you think it would be worth it to try to talk to them to see how
open they are about having it distributed by Debian?

They seem to have everything already set-up and a version ready to be
