I expected various ppl to get the msg below through the bug report, but as

I've only seen/read the above thread, but the idea I get from that is: NO
From that thread it seems like they're going the way of 'snaps' and so if 
you use Ubuntu that may be 'solution'. 
It's also worth noting that many of the people who moved to Nextcloud 
are from ownCloud ...
