well for sure you need have an icon to click on - if it is named tray icon in
the GNOME word i don't know. But I also knowfrom upstrema bugtracker that
gnome people with qt < 5.4 still complaining about this issue.
Well thats why i recommend to built with qt4 till we have qt 5.4.2 in
backports. That is actually the reason, why the versioninstable is actually
built with qt4. The change is not really big.
