I don't think it's good to do these changes in Debian if it's in more 
than a few files as that's a nightmare to maintain, it's something that 
needs to be done upstream. So I think we'll have to live with overrides 
for this UTF-8 issue.

We do have a couple of patches for spelling errors, I remember when I 
made them, there are several real spelling errors that need to stay. But 
by now I think spelling errors need to be fixed upstream, otherwise we 
need to carry those patches too long and there's maintenance with every 
new release. Better work on this upstream.
