Hello,

We have released new versions of Castle Game Engine and view3dscene,
software packaged in Debian thanks to you.

1. Big Castle Game Engine update: 7.0-alpha.2.

Major new features in version 7.0-alpha.2: Many new components
(lights, primitives, fonts, sound…), new cameras, terrains, sprite
sheet editor, Delphi, glTF support improvements. The full release
announcement is on
https://castle-engine.io/wp/2022/09/12/castle-game-engine-7-0-alpha-2-release-many-new-components-lights-primitives-fonts-sound-new-cameras-terrains-sprite-sheet-editor-delphi/
.

2. More modest view3dscene update, to 4.2.0 .

The new features of view3dscene 4.2.0 are listed on
https://github.com/castle-engine/view3dscene/releases/tag/v4.2.0 .

There are no revolutions from the infrastructure / packaging point of
view, I think. All the source code and releases is hosted where it was
( https://github.com/castle-engine/castle-engine/ ,
https://github.com/castle-engine/view3dscene ). The Castle Game
Engine, as in previous 7.0-alpha.1, features a few tools, most
importantly

- GUI "castle-editor" (build using Lazarus)

- command-line "castle-engine" (build using plain FPC), we call this
our "build tool".

I am happy to help with updating Debian, Ubuntu and all other packages
to the respective versions! Let me know if you have any questions.

And if you want to see what Castle Game Engine actually does from a
user's perspective, go ahead and see our new webpage
https://castle-engine.io/ , list of features on
https://castle-engine.io/features , and browse the manual
https://castle-engine.io/manual_intro.php . I have also recently
published a new tutorial video on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/c/CastleGameEngine .

The ideal situation would be that users can just do "apt install
castle-game-engine" and this installs Castle Game Engine tools (with
castle-editor and castle-engine), units, FPC compiler and Lazarus IDE.
And user can then just run "Castle Game Engine" desktop application,
create a new project, hit F9 -- and it will build and run. I can help
with anything to make this scenario a reality :)

Regards,
Michalis
