Lazarus already declares a build depends relation to libgtk2.0-dev. So it not a
Lazarus issue.
The real issue is that VMG does not declare that dependency because it was
pulled by fp units gtk2 package.
As last upload removed this dependency as agreed with upstream, any program
build using Lazarus and using GTK2 binding units should build depend on
libgtk2.0-dev until it migrated to GTK3 or GTK4.
I dont agree to reduce the severity of the bug, because an FTBFS is for me a
serious bug.
However, I don't agree that this is a Lazarus bug but a VMG one.
I did not reassign it back to VMG in order to avoid ping-pong with Samuel until
he agrees to get it back, but I'll keep the bug's severity as is for now.
