Dear team,
Full disclosure: Jonas and me decided to go ahead with the removal of
src:mat, as, probably due to a bug in either autopkgtest or britney, the
migration of mat2 would have been possibly delayed. See this IRC quote
for full details:
11:50 < georg> Anybody has a clue why https://qa.debian.org/excuses.php?package=mat2 still lists "autopkgtest for mat: amd64: Test in progress"? In fact, looking at https://ci.debian.net/status/pending/ it's not..
11:50 < georg> the upload of mat2 ships a transitional package mat to ensure a smooth upgrade path mat to mat2
11:51 < georg> mat is listed here as failing: https://ci.debian.net/packages/m/mat/unstable/amd64/
13:08 < elbrus> georg: looking
13:11 < elbrus> georg: seems to be a bug in either autopkgtest and/or britney
13:11 < georg> elbrus: thanks for having a look -- might this probably influence the migration in a negative way?
13:12 < elbrus> for sure (if nobody intervenes)
13:12 < georg> anything I can do?
13:12 < elbrus> contact me ;)
13:12 < georg> k :D
13:19 < elbrus> georg: please ping me in a couple of days if you don't see evidence that I intervened
13:19 < elbrus> in case I forget
13:19 < georg> elbrus: will do, thanks a lot
13:23 < elbrus> georg: did you really have to wait until the very last moment to fix bug #910493
13:23 -zwiebelbot:#debci- Debian#910493: Handle transition from MAT to MAT2 - https://bugs.debian.org/910493
13:24 < georg> As I wrote in the bug report, I missed this while uploading 0.8.0-1 on Feb 28th
13:25 < elbrus> georg: can I just remove mat?
13:25 < georg> I did this upload so late, as we needed to make the Nautilus ext work
13:25 < elbrus> than britney will do the right thing
13:25 < elbrus> I mean src:mat
13:26 < georg> elbrus: see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=910493#5 (this was the idea back then)
13:26 < georg> I just pinged intrigeri and dkg, the former maintainers, some days ago to give a final ACK, but so far there was none
13:27 < georg> personally, I guess that's okay and that's still the idea (and the most sensible thing to do, not only given the current situation)
13:27 < elbrus> I mean, if I remove src:mat nowish, than the continuous retrying of the mat autopkgtest will go away
13:27 < georg> elbrus: give me a sec
13:27 < elbrus> sure, no hurry
13:28 < elbrus> (this discussion would be better over at #debian-release, but let's finish it)
13:28 < georg> just getting a second opinion
13:32 < georg> elbrus: good to go, please remove src:mat
13:36 < elbrus> remove hint added
13:36 < georg> ty!
Cheers,
Georg
