Package: tails-installer
Version: 5.0.8+dfsg-1
Followup-For: Bug #814190

Another i3wm user here.

I read somewhere a solution for an unrelated policykit problem: just have running

/usr/lib/policykit-1-gnome/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1

before and meanwhile tails-installer is called. A graphical
authentication dialog shows up, instead of asking it directly on the
console, and furthermore it works this time.

As other users have stated, when issuing "pkexec whoami" I get an
authentication error. If I have running
"polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1" as shown above, the graphical
dialog is also issued and then the answer is "root".
