Howdy Wolfgang

Did you mind to read the local Debian doc? I provides a template in /etc/proftpd/sql.conf
and comments about required modules loading in /etc/proftpd/modules.conf. Please, use them.
The general documentation for proftpd is ok, but you should configure
the whole thing yourself in that case.
