I remember this one, it was my fault :) We ended up in some situation
where we had to recreate "master", I think the shift to 0.25.x ? and
so I left a backup around.
I think we can trash it now. It's been a while.

I'm pretty sure you're right here. They're legacy before the glory
that is git-buildpackage.
